Youth Advocacy (Domestic)


check-markConfident Kids: School Uniform Program– This program provides students with new public school uniforms which increase their self-esteem and allow them to feel better about their appearance.  As a result, they can engage with other students, form friendships with their peers, and focus on learning, instead of worrying about their financial/class status.

check-markConfident Kids: Stuffed Suitcase Program – This program provides children with new suitcases filled with toiletries and comfort items.  The suitcases improve children’s self-esteem, and make them feel more valued and special. They also eliminate the need to transport personal belongings in black garbage bags, as is typical in foster care.

check-markCollege & Career Readiness Workshops – This program supports college and career readiness workshops for children in foster care, and provides students with the specialized attention and guidance required to effectively transition to the next phase of their lives.

check-mark “Steppin’ Out & Steppin’ Up” Youth Conference at Rutgers Law School – Our support of this annual conference serves children in foster care who are “aging out” of the foster care system, and provides them with assistance to more easily transition to the next phase of life.

check-markTrenton Summer Youth Employment Program – This program was created to provide a forum for businesses in the Trenton, NJ area to come together to create internships and provide training for youth-in-need.
