Paulien Meijer is currently an executive director of Global Market Access at Merck & Co., Inc. at its New Jersey headquarters. Paulien develops market access, payer strategy, pricing and reimbursement strategies globally for Merck’s products. Born, raised and educated in the Netherlands (she has a Master’s degree in Public Finance and Economics at the Vrije University of Amsterdam), Paulien and her husband, Johannes, moved to the USA in February 2001. They assumed they would have a one-year adventure. Fifteen years later, Paulien and her husband still enjoy living and working in Hunterdon County, NJ with their 2 dogs and 3 cats, and Paulien became a citizen in 2011.

After having worked almost 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry, Paulien looks to expand her experience, leverage her skills and talents, and most of all to “give back and make a difference” in the GHN community. Paulien is interested in the work GHN does in all three areas of focus: providing support to orphanages in Romania and South Africa, providing Youth Advocacy support in Trenton and Essex County, and helping children with Autism.

Paulien enjoys running with her dogs, reading, and cooking. In her spare time, she also runs a small Career Coaching business, helping professionals to make the next step in their careers and/or personal lives.
