1/2 Marathon Raises $7,600!
GHN friends Cara Pasternak and Sara Granata decided to plan, practice, and ultimately run the NYC Lives half-marathon on Sunday, September 11, 2022 to raise funds for GHN’s Youth Advocacy and Autism programs. Collectively, they helped raise $7,600 for GHN.
“The reason that we chose to work with GHN, is not only because we have been familiar with GHN for a few years now,” says Cara, “but also because we love what they do as a whole. There is no network out there like GHN. The focus for bettering kids, near and far, is super-influential to us, especially with us being young adults.”
Cara (left), a Client Services Associate at Bleakely Financial, enjoys spending time with loved ones, traveling, and working out. Sara (right), a former assistant interior designer at Arhaus, loves traveling, cooking, helping people in need, and volunteering at an animal shelter. Both have never participated in a marathon, but were inspired to run after a few of their friends ran the NYC Marathon in November 2021. When they were signing up, they thought – “We should make this into a purpose, not only to help motivate us more, but to give back somehow. GHN instantly came to mind!”
